Mary Jo Potter

Mary Jo Potter has been an active entrepreneur and investor for 30 years. Having sold a company to McGraw Hill, she became active in Angel investing by joining Keiretsu Forum, where she has been a member for 20 years. She has invested in a variety of entities but is now focused on the healthcare sector. Mary Jo is Managing Partner of Healthcare Angels, a GP in Keiretsu Capital, where she has been on the investment committee for 5 years, an LP in Purple Arch Ventures (Northwestern University’s venture fund), an LP in Portfolia, a member of the Band of Angels, an investor and advisor for KYTO, and an advisor for Skydeck. Mary Jo is on several boards, and she has helped 6 companies to IPO or acquisition. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum and Impact 100.
Dr. Paul Russo
Chairman and CEO @Kyto Technology and Life Science, Inc.
Dr. Paul Russo is Founder, Chairman and CEO of Kyto Technology and Life Science, Inc., a public entity actively investing in thoroughly vetted start-ups (www.kytotech.com). He is also Founder and Chairman of GEO Semiconductor, where he was also CEO from its founding in 2008 through 2015. He sits on several start-up boards in the US and Canada, including Beam Semiconductor, Achelios Therapeutics, InBay Technologies and Dynamount, and is an advisor to Kuantsol, Promaxo and Shyft Moving. He is a former board member of ATI technologies through its acquisition by AMD and is active in both the Band of Angels and the Keiretsu Forum and has recently joined the Silicon Catalyst Angels. Before GEO, Dr. Russo started Silicon Optix and Genesis Microchip. He received his B. Eng. in from McGill and his MSc and PhD in EECS from UC Berkeley. He holds 8 patents, has published extensively, and is the recipient of the IEEE Centennial Medal and the Tech Pioneer Award from the World Economic Forum.
Rob Hess
Angel Investor and Patent Attorney
Rob Hess is an angel investor (>50 angel investments) focusing primarily on Pharma/Biotech, Medtech and B2B SaaS. A member of the Life Science Angels, Band of Angels, and Tech Coast Angels, he advises Kyto Technology and Life Science, SeedFolio, and Inhalon Biopharma. Robert is on the Board of Directors for Strategikon Pharma and a Board Observer for Purissima. His investments include Shyft, Promaxo, Neuro42, Purissima, Seal Rock Therapeutics, Strategikon Pharma, AdHash, LabViva, Powur, Snapwire, Cartogram, Gravyty, RoboTire, Mercato, Noctrix Health, OnScale, Valfix, Visgenx, Juicebox, Aptiv.io, Tutorfly, DTX Pharma, Queenly, Embolyx, BioTrace, Previously an in-house and private practice patent attorney prosecuting biotechnology and medical device patents, Hess holds a B.S. in Biochemistry from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from University of Wisconsin - Madison, and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School with a concentration in Intellectual Property.
Scott Phillips

Scott holds a degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. Prior to starting StarFish, he worked in diverse areas such as lithium battery development and manufacturing, UV spectroscopy instrumentation and hi-fi audio speakers. Under his leadership StarFish has grown into a diverse professional organization with clients around the world and 100% focus on medical devices. Scott is a Chair of the LifeSciences British Columbia board, member of the 2022 VIATEC Board of Directors, Fellow of The Canadian Academy of Engineering, winner of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2017 Pacific Awards Technology category, 2017 recipient of the VIATEC Technology Champion award, and a volunteer with Junior Achievement, Entrepreneurs Organization, and University of British Columbia.
